Kitchen Benchtop Projects

Melbourne

The gallery below shows a selection of kitchen benchtop projects completed by Multiform Stone across Melbourne. Each surface was custom fabricated and installed by our Campbellfield team — from single bench runs to full kitchen renovations with waterfall islands, splashbacks and feature panels.

We work with all major stone and stone-look materials, including engineered stone brands such as Caesarstone and Silestone, sintered stone and porcelain brands including Neolith and Dekton, and a full range of natural stone slabs in marble, granite, travertine and limestone.

Kitchen Benchtop Materials

Engineered Stone Benchtops

Engineered stone is the most popular benchtop material for Melbourne kitchens. Composed of crushed quartz bound in resin, it offers consistent colouring, high hardness and good stain resistance. Available in a wide range of colours and patterns including concrete looks, marble looks and solid tones.

  • Brands: Caesarstone, Silestone, Quantum Quartz, Smartstone, Essa Stone
  • Thickness: typically 20mm or 30mm

  • Scratch and stain resistant — suitable for high-use kitchens

  • Non-porous — does not require sealing

Porcelain & Sintered Stone Benchtops

Porcelain and sintered stone benchtops are the fastest-growing category in Melbourne kitchen design. Manufactured at extreme heat and pressure, sintered stone is UV stable, heat resistant and frost resistant — making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor kitchen applications. Available in large-format slabs with minimal joins.

  • Brands: Neolith, Dekton, Lapitec, Laminam

  • UV stable — does not fade in sunlight (outdoor safe)

  • Heat resistant — pots directly off the hob will not mark the surface

  • Available in very large format — 3200x1600mm and larger, reducing or eliminating joins

Natural Stone Benchtops

No two natural stone benchtops are the same. Marble, granite and quartzite slabs each carry unique veining and movement that cannot be replicated in engineered materials. Natural stone requires sealing and slightly more care in use, but delivers a character that remains unmatched.

Frequently Asked Questions

Kitchen Benchtops

Kitchen benchtop pricing in Melbourne depends on the material, size, edge profile and complexity of the job. Engineered stone benchtops typically start from around $500-800 per linear metre installed. Natural stone and sintered stone products vary significantly by material. Contact Multiform Stone for an accurate quote based on your specific requirements.

Granite and sintered stone (Neolith, Dekton) are among the most durable benchtop materials available. Granite is highly scratch and heat resistant. Sintered stone is UV, heat and frost resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor kitchens. Engineered stone is also highly durable and non-porous.

Yes. We frequently fabricate benchtops and splashbacks from the same slab, giving a continuous grain through both surfaces. This is particularly effective with marble-look engineered stone and natural stone slabs with strong veining.

Multiform Stone installs kitchen benchtops across all Melbourne metropolitan suburbs. We are based in Campbellfield in Melbourne’s north and cover the full metro area including eastern, southern, western and bayside suburbs.

For a standard kitchen, installation typically takes one day. Templating (measuring) is done 1-2 weeks before installation. Total lead time from template to installation is typically 2-3 weeks, depending on material availability.
